getting there
Arrival You can arrive individually or in a group with other participants - just as you want. I am happy to help you with the organization. The trip to El Cabrito is like a little adventure, as La Gomera does not have an international airport on the one hand and you cover the last part of the route with a small boat on the other. You fly to the neighboring island of Tenerife to Tenerife-South Airport and take the bus to the port of Los Christianos, then board the ferry to San Sebastian / La Gomera and from there you will be picked up by the hotel's houseboat. You will receive a detailed description and checklist upon registration. For example, there is the option of having the bus company MESA pick you up, which will then also organize your ferry ticket. In addition, together with the El Cabrito team, I am happy to help you organize your arrival and departure. If you also need help booking your flights, please feel free to contact me. The flights to Tenerife are currently under 200 € (including the return flight) Here is my very personal tip: If you can schedule it, then I recommend you allow yourself an extra day for your arrival and departure. So you could travel to Tenerife on Friday and spend a night there in Los Christianos - maybe enjoy a first swim in the sun and the sea - and then take the relaxed ferry to La Gomera the next morning. For the return journey I recommend you to spend one night in the small port town of San Sebastian and from there to take the ferry to Tenerife the next day. So you could get to know the charming little place and slowly arrive back in 'civilization' without having to plunge into the tourist turmoil of Tenerife. In my experience, the return to the 'normal world' with all its noises and crowds takes some time. I can recommend a nice hotel in San Sebastian. Unfortunately, day extensions are not possible at Finca El Cabrito. But if you have a lot of time, you can of course stay a week longer in El Cabrito and explore the beautiful nature in more detail. Alternatively, I recommend a stay in Valley Gran Ray. Different vegetation, several beaches await you here and it is also a great starting point to explore the other half of the island. Caution! Here is an important note for your flight booking for the journey. The finca points out: «From November to March the weather can be stormy on some days and the sea choppy. For this reason, our boats will only operate to a limited extent in winter after 6.30 p.m. and before 7.30 a.m. for safety reasons, and from November 2019 no longer at all. If you know that you will only have to take an evening ferry to reach San Sebastian on arrival or that you have to choose the early ferry to Tenerife on departure, please book an overnight stay in a hotel in San Sebastian or Tenerife in good time. We will then take you to El Cabrito on arrival the next morning with one of our boats, or the day before you leave to San Sebastian. »
